All our skippers are RYA Yacht masters commercially endorsed. They carry the appropriate delivery insurance and have the relevant experience for the delivery given. The initial enquiry will come through to the office where myself, Tyler, will pick it up and reply to it. Once a price and delivery is confirmed a deposit is paid and you are passed over to Des who will discuss boat safety and passage planning. Des has sailed all over the world, the majority of deliveries are UK – Europe or UK – Uk. Des has carried out most passages many many times and usually has a plan a, b and sea depending on weather. It may not be Des who carries out all deliveries, however he has a team of 4 other skippers all with similar experience and background that work in his RYA sailing school. With a little rejig we can usually accommodate short notice deliveries or long passages with out too much problem.
We usually suggest a minimum of 3 crew, including the skipper. Although we are aware most boats can be sailed with 2, if something was to happen to one of the 3 then we would have a standby. Our crew are not paid, its only the skipper that is paid. Therefore the addition of a third crew is a very little cost that we feel essential to ensure the safe delivery.
